FAQ

A Professional Employer Organization (PEO) takes the lead in a co-employment relationship with its client and the employee.  The PEO administers its client’s employees, including providing payroll services, paying taxes on behalf of the client, providing benefits when applicable, providing Human Resource services, etc.

Legally, our client’s employees become PSR employees. They can access our benefit suite, and because we are pooling employees from across our client base, PSR is able to provide high-quality, cost-effective benefits to our employees.

PEO’s provide a long-term solution for small business clients, easing the burdens of having employees work for you directly. PEO’s partner with their clients in a long-term relationship providing a scope of services to the client. Staffing Agencies fulfill a short-term need for their clients. When business owners engage staffing agencies for a quasi permanent employee, they often pay significantly more than they would if they had used a PEO.

PSR provides a Needs Assessment for every potential client. We meet with you to discuss your current operation as it relates to payroll, Human Resources, benefits, retirement planning, etc. We then provide a customized solution along with transparent pricing information so you can make a determination if a PEO is right for you.

Surprisingly, this is not as complicated as it may seem. We provide our clients with the numbers so they can assess if the value we provide is worth it or not.

PSR becomes your HR department. As part of the HR services we provide, PSR will handle:

  • On-Boarding and orientation of all new hires
  • Verify eligibility of new employees to work legally in the United States
  • Provide an employee handbook
  • Provide performance reviews and if necessary turn-around plans
  • Maintain personnel files for each employee
  • Assist with benefit questions
  • Ensure that our client is complying with all employment regulations
  • Assist with employee recruiting
  • Unemployment insurance
  • Cobra

PSR’s fees are based on the number of employees the client has, and all applicable taxes and insurance requirements. We provide each potential client with a breakout of our fees so they can determine if a PEO is right for them.

How does payroll work?

Payroll can be processed weekly or every two weeks depending on your preference. Our clients pay for payroll and our services through an ACH withdraw from their account, which is deposited to PSR. PSR pays employees in accordance with the schedule you choose. There are 52 pay periods on a weekly schedule or 26 pay periods on a bi-weekly schedule in each calendar year.

PSR pays all payroll taxes on behalf of its clients, and also provides all required reporting to the government.

Yes. PSR is responsible for providing W-2’s for your employees, as well as all applicable reporting to state and federal governments.

Yes. Every pay period PSR direct deposits wages and, if applicable, reimbursed expenses directly into the employee’s bank account.

Generally speaking, payroll processing can be set up within 10 business days of becoming a PSR client.
